This bill amends the existing law regarding the use of historic motor vehicles in New Jersey. It allows owners of these vehicles to use them for pleasure driving, specifically permitting occasional travel not exceeding one day per week. The definition of a "historic motor vehicle" is updated to include vehicles that are at least 25 years old, owned as collector's items, and used for occasional travel, exhibition, and educational purposes. The previous restriction that limited their use solely to exhibition and educational purposes has been removed.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that "occasional travel" refers to driving a historic motor vehicle for purposes other than exhibition and education, but still within the one-day-per-week limit. This change aims to provide more flexibility for owners of historic vehicles while maintaining certain restrictions to preserve the intent of the law. The act is set to take effect six months after its enactment.
