This bill mandates that the base salary of Palisades Interstate Park law enforcement officers must be equivalent to the average base salary of law enforcement officers in contiguous municipalities who possess similar training, experience, and years of service. To facilitate this adjustment, any discrepancies between the salaries of the officers prior to and following the enactment of this bill will be funded through allocations from the General Fund.

Additionally, the bill provides a definition for "base salary," which encompasses the salary determined by a salary guide or table, as well as any increments related to longevity or length of service. The act is set to take effect on the first day of the third month following its enactment, although the Palisades Interstate Park Commission is permitted to take any necessary anticipatory actions to implement the bill's provisions.
