This bill mandates that any student in a school district who suffers a concussion must undergo an evaluation by a physician or a licensed health care provider trained in concussion management before returning to school. Additionally, the student must receive written clearance from such a physician to resume school activities. If the physician indicates that the student requires any restrictions or limitations, the school district's 504 team is required to implement these immediately and inform all relevant teachers and staff. The 504 team, in collaboration with the physician, will also determine how to support the student during their recovery and assess the need for ongoing adjustments to the restrictions.

Furthermore, the bill prohibits students who have sustained a concussion from participating in any physical activities at school, including recess, physical education, or intramural sports, until they have been evaluated and cleared by a qualified physician. This ensures that students are not at risk of further injury while recovering from a concussion. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
