This bill expands the audit powers of the State Auditor in New Jersey, mandating the conduct of post-audits for all state departments, offices, and agencies, as well as performance review audits for programs receiving state funds. The State Auditor is required to publish the results of these audits prominently on the Legislature's website for at least 14 days and on a dedicated webpage maintained by the State Auditor. Additionally, the bill emphasizes the need for cooperation from accounting agencies and entities being audited, ensuring they provide necessary access to records and respond to audit findings.

Furthermore, the bill specifically requires the State Auditor to conduct performance review audits of business assistance or incentive programs administered by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) at least once every two years. These audits will cover various forms of financial assistance, including grants, loans, and tax benefits, aimed at supporting businesses in the state. The State Auditor must prepare and transmit a report of the findings from these audits to the Legislature within six months of completion.
