This bill amends Section 12 of P.L.1998, c.1 (C.2A:17-56.61) to expand employer reporting requirements to include not only traditional employers and labor organizations but also any entities that employ or contract with individuals for financial compensation. This includes technology platforms used for ride-sharing and delivery services. The bill mandates that these entities report the hiring, re-hiring, or contracting of individuals within 20 days, with specific information required such as the individual's name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number, as well as the employer's or entity's details.

Additionally, the bill introduces penalties for non-compliance, including a written warning for the first violation and a civil penalty of up to $25 for subsequent violations, or $500 if the failure to report is due to a conspiracy to provide false information. The information collected will be shared with relevant state and federal agencies involved in employment security and workers' compensation programs. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
