This bill establishes the New Jersey-India Commission as a permanent entity within the Department of State, building on the framework set by Executive Order No. 354 issued by Governor Murphy in 2024. The commission will consist of 35 to 45 members appointed by the Governor, with an initial term for all members expiring on December 31, 2027. After this date, eight members will be appointed based on recommendations from the Legislature, while the remaining members will be public appointees serving three-year terms. All members will serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in their duties.
