This bill empowers the Legalized Games of Chance Control Commission to seek injunctions against unauthorized amusement games through summary proceedings in Superior Court. It allows the commission to take action if it appears that a violation of the Amusement Games Licensing Law or related regulations has occurred, is occurring, or is likely to occur. The court may impose civil penalties, restore any unlawfully acquired property, and issue necessary orders to prevent future violations. Notably, the bill specifies that the court cannot suspend or revoke any licenses or registration certificates issued by the commission during these proceedings.
Additionally, the bill establishes civil penalties for violations of the law or regulations administered by the commission, with fines set at a maximum of $7,500 for the first offense and $15,000 for subsequent offenses. The Attorney General is authorized to initiate actions for the collection or enforcement of these civil penalties. Organizations that are registered with the commission and hold valid identification numbers will be exempt from these provisions if they are not under suspension or revocation at the time of the violation.
