This bill mandates that pharmacy permit holders, or their authorized representatives, must give written notice to the governing board of the municipality where the pharmacy is located at least 90 days before the pharmacy's closure. This requirement is in addition to the existing notification obligations to the State Board of Pharmacy Office of Drug Control and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The bill also stipulates that the Board of Pharmacy is responsible for adopting necessary rules and regulations to implement these provisions, in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
