This bill mandates the Division of Consumer Affairs within the Department of Law and Public Safety to establish and maintain an open data portal on its website. The portal is required to provide public access to various non-confidential statistical datasets, which include information on applications for licensure, registration, and certification, processing times, active licenses, examination passage rates, and consumer complaints. The division must ensure that the portal allows users to sort datasets by professional or occupational board and provides year-by-year comparisons of the data.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that all datasets made available through the open data portal must adhere to the open public records act and other relevant state and federal laws concerning information security and privacy. The act is set to take effect on the first day of the ninth month following its enactment, although the Director of the Division of Consumer Affairs is permitted to take necessary administrative actions in advance for its implementation.
