The proposed bill establishes the Planning for an Aging Population Task Force in New Jersey, aimed at addressing the challenges posed by the state's growing aging population. The task force will consist of 23 members, including 16 ex officio members from various health and social service agencies, and seven public members appointed by the Governor, representing local offices on aging and senior citizens. The task force is tasked with analyzing demographic data, identifying existing resources and services for seniors, evaluating healthcare capacities, and consulting with relevant departments to assess the impact of the aging population on labor and housing markets.

Additionally, the task force will solicit testimony from seniors, caregivers, and service providers to gather insights on the quality and accessibility of available programs. Within 18 months of its formation, the task force must submit a comprehensive report to the Governor and Legislature detailing its findings, recommendations, and a proposed statewide action plan to effectively address the needs of the aging population. The task force will dissolve 30 days after submitting its report.
