Additionally, the bill stipulates that the provisional permit will be valid for 120 days and can be extended if the applicant continues to meet the program's criteria while awaiting their barbering license. The amendments also clarify that individuals who can demonstrate three years of practical experience in a licensed shop may be eligible for licensure without examination, even if their previous licensing authority had less stringent requirements. The bill aims to streamline the process for qualified barbers relocating to New Jersey, ensuring they can practice while their licensing applications are processed.
