This bill amends Antwans Law, which was established in memory of Antwan Timbers, Jr., to enhance the allocation of fines for speed limit violations in specific areas of Burlington County. The bill introduces a new provision that mandates all fines imposed for violations of the amended speed limits be directed into the municipal treasury of the municipality where the violation occurred, specifically for law enforcement purposes. This is a significant change from the current law, which divides fines between the municipality and the county for general use and road maintenance.

The bill also maintains the existing penalties, which include tripling the fines for violations of the specified speed limits on Route 130. The new legal language inserted into the law clarifies that, notwithstanding existing statutes, the fines collected under this section will exclusively support local law enforcement efforts, thereby providing municipalities with additional resources to enhance public safety. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
