Furthermore, the bill establishes similar requirements for the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), which must provide copies of any filings that would result in rate increases to the Governor and Legislature 15 days before public notice of a hearing. After the BPU adopts a final decision on such filings, it must also notify the Governor and Legislature within 15 days. These provisions aim to enhance transparency and public involvement in decisions regarding fare and toll increases across New Jersey's transportation authorities.
