This bill amends R.S.4:24-18 to allow soil conservation districts to have more than five supervisors. The new provision states that the governing body of the district shall consist of at least five supervisors, who are appointed by the State Soil Conservation Committee. Additionally, the State Soil Conservation Committee is given the authority to determine the maximum number of supervisors for each district, replacing the previous limitation of five supervisors.

The bill aims to provide greater flexibility in the governance of soil conservation districts by enabling them to appoint additional supervisors as needed. This change is intended to enhance the effectiveness of soil conservation efforts by allowing for a more diverse and representative governing body. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
