This bill mandates the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD) to create and maintain an online job portal specifically for employers in New Jersey to post job listings that require employees to work in-person at least 50 percent of their hours each week. The DOLWD has the option to integrate this portal into its existing job search website, Job Source, or to develop a separate, independent website for this purpose. If the existing Job Source is utilized, the new portal will function as a distinct search engine focused solely on in-person employment opportunities.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that the DOLWD must inform employers about the job portal, its intended use, and how to access it, following guidelines set by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development. The act is set to take effect on the first day of the third month following its enactment, although the Commissioner may take preliminary administrative actions to facilitate its implementation.
