This bill mandates the Commissioner of Human Services to enhance the MyNJHelps web-based application platform within 365 days of the bill's effective date. The enhancement aims to transform MyNJHelps into a centralized online resource for all State-administered public assistance programs, which currently include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Work First New Jersey (WFNJ), and NJFamilyCare. The commissioner is required to reformat the platform to allow applicants to access information, apply for benefits, and check the status of their applications through a single application that covers all public assistance programs.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that it does not change the administrating agencies of these public assistance programs. Instead, it ensures that the new platform will provide these agencies with the necessary applicant information for eligibility determinations and allow them to update application statuses. The commissioner is also tasked with establishing data-sharing agreements with relevant State agencies to facilitate compliance with the bill's requirements.
