This bill amends existing legislation regarding sports wagering advertisements in New Jersey by updating the required warning language. The new warning states, "Gambling is risky and can become addictive, resulting in catastrophic life consequences. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem and wants help, call 1-800 GAMBLER." This revised warning must be included in all print, billboard, sign, online, or broadcast advertisements for sports pools and online sports pools. Additionally, the warning must be displayed whenever a user opens an Internet site or mobile application that provides access to online sports pools, as well as in every sports wagering lounge.

The bill also maintains the authority of the division to regulate sports pools and online sports pools, ensuring that operators demonstrate financial stability and integrity. It allows for expedited rulemaking by the division and the racing commission to facilitate the implementation of sports wagering at casinos and racetracks. The changes aim to enhance consumer protection by emphasizing the risks associated with gambling while ensuring that the regulatory framework remains effective and responsive to the needs of the industry.
