This bill amends R.S.45:9-2 to establish new education requirements for certain officers of the State Board of Medical Examiners. Specifically, it mandates that the board elect a vice president in addition to the existing roles of president, secretary, and treasurer. Furthermore, it stipulates that both the president and vice president must hold a degree as an allopathic physician (M.D.), an osteopathic physician (D.O.), or a doctor of podiatric medicine (D.P.M.).

In addition to these changes, the bill allows the president or secretary to issue subpoenas to compel witness attendance and administer oaths related to the board's duties. It also outlines the penalties for noncompliance with subpoenas and emphasizes the board's authority to adopt necessary rules and regulations. The bill is set to take effect on the first day of the fourth month following its enactment, providing the board with adequate time to implement these new educational requirements.
