This bill mandates the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD) to create and maintain a list of industry-valued credentials that reflect the specific qualifications employers in New Jersey prioritize. The list will be based on an analysis of state labor market data and feedback from employers, ensuring it accurately represents the credentials that are most sought after in the job market. The DOLWD is required to update this list annually and make it accessible online in both list and downloadable formats.
Additionally, the bill stipulates that the DOLWD will adopt rules and regulations in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act to implement the provisions of this act. The act will take effect 90 days after its enactment, although the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development is permitted to take necessary administrative actions in advance to facilitate its implementation.
