This bill amends existing laws regarding the posting of official public notices by allowing public bodies to fulfill their notice requirements through online publications. Specifically, it expands the definition of "adequate notice" to include newspapers that are published in part or in whole electronically via the Internet. The bill stipulates that public bodies must provide written advance notice of at least 48 hours for meetings, which can now be sent to these electronic newspapers, in addition to traditional methods of notification.

Furthermore, the bill introduces provisions for situations where a qualified newspaper is not available. In such cases, it allows the State or local bodies to publish notices on their official websites and post them in at least one public place reserved for announcements. This change aims to ensure that public notices are accessible to the community, even when traditional print options are limited. The new requirements emphasize the importance of prominently displaying and continuously posting these notices for the duration required by law.
