The bill also stipulates that for local government units that are not classified as urban aid municipalities, the State will provide grants covering 50 percent of the costs associated with the development of these inclusive playgrounds.

In addition to the new allocation for inclusive playgrounds, the bill maintains the overall structure of the Preserve New Jersey Green Acres Fund, which dedicates 60 percent of the funds for State open space projects, 30 percent for local government projects, and 10 percent for qualifying nonprofit organizations. The bill emphasizes compliance with federal and State requirements regarding accessibility, ensuring that all development projects adhere to the Americans with Disabilities Act and related codes. This legislative change aims to enhance recreational opportunities for all children, regardless of their abilities, by promoting the creation of inclusive play environments.
