This bill allows students in grade 12 who are enlisted or planning to enlist in the Armed Forces of the United States or the National Guard to receive excused absences for military enlistment activities. Specifically, it stipulates that any absence from school for such activities will be recorded as excused and will not be reflected on the student's attendance record, transcript, or any similar documentation. Additionally, these excused absences will not affect the determination of whether a student has a perfect attendance record for the school year.

To qualify for the excused absence, students must provide documentation as deemed necessary by the superintendent or administrative principal of their school district. The bill defines "military enlistment activity" to include various requirements necessary for enlistment, such as testing, medical evaluations, interviews, and fingerprinting. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
