This bill amends current New Jersey law to include skin cancer as a qualifying medical condition that allows individuals to apply for permission to use certain materials on their motor vehicle windows and windshields, such as tinting materials. Specifically, it expands the definition of medical conditions involving ophthalmic or dermatologic photosensitivity to include a history of, or a substantial risk of developing, skin cancer.

The bill also updates the terminology by replacing "director" with "chief administrator" in the context of the application process for window treatment permissions. The application must still be submitted in a prescribed form and include a written certification from a qualified medical professional confirming the applicant's medical condition. This change aims to provide additional protections for individuals at risk of skin cancer, allowing them to better manage their exposure to sunlight while driving.
