This bill amends current New Jersey law to include skin cancer as a qualifying medical condition that allows individuals to apply for permission to use certain materials on their motor vehicle windows and windshields, such as tinting materials. Specifically, it expands the definition of medical conditions involving ophthalmic or dermatologic photosensitivity to include a history of, or a substantial risk of developing, skin cancer. The application process remains the same, requiring a written certification from a certified ophthalmologist or a licensed physician confirming the medical condition.

Additionally, the bill updates the terminology by replacing references to the "director" with the "chief administrator" of the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. It also allows for the inclusion of other photosensitive disorders or conditions as determined by the chief administrator. This legislative change aims to provide necessary accommodations for individuals with specific medical conditions, enhancing their safety and comfort while driving.
