The bill amends Section 5 of P.L.2024, c.14 (C.18A:6-123.1) to prohibit the collection of new student growth objective data and administrator goals data for teachers, principals, assistant principals, and vice-principals during the 2024-2025 school year and subsequent years until the next expiration and readoption of N.J.A.C.6A:10. Instead, evaluations will rely on existing data from the most recent year in which the educator completed these objectives or goals. However, first-year educators and non-tenured staff will still be required to set and collect data on their objectives and goals during this period.

Additionally, the bill outlines that after the next expiration and readoption of N.J.A.C.6A:10, school districts must implement guidelines for the collection of this data in accordance with findings from the New Jersey Educator Evaluation Review Task Force. It also specifies that educators eligible for tenure by February 15 are exempt from setting new objectives or collecting data in that school year, while those eligible after that date must fulfill these requirements. The act is set to take effect immediately upon approval.
