This bill mandates that the Commissioner of Human Services, in collaboration with the Secretary of Higher Education, create general information regarding the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which will include a link to the application for the program. This initiative aims to ensure that students at public institutions of higher education are informed about available food assistance resources.

Furthermore, the bill requires that each public institution of higher education disseminate this information alongside its initial offer of admission and via email during each semester's registration. In addition to the SNAP information, institutions must also provide details about any food assistance programs, pantries, meal swipe options, or similar resources available on campus or within the community. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
