This bill establishes a public awareness campaign on multiple sclerosis (MS) within the New Jersey Department of Health. The campaign aims to educate citizens about MS, including its causes, symptoms, and health effects, as well as how the disease can impact an individual's quality of life. It will utilize both print and electronic media, available in multiple languages, including English and Spanish. The campaign will provide comprehensive information on MS, including treatment options, educational resources, and research efforts aimed at developing effective therapies and finding a cure.
Additionally, the Department of Health is tasked with making relevant information about MS accessible to the public through its website, including literature on the signs, causes, and health effects of the disease. The department is also authorized to adopt any necessary rules and regulations to implement the provisions of this act. The bill is set to take effect 30 days after its enactment.
