This bill mandates that school districts in New Jersey, which include grades nine through twelve, must incorporate instruction on the risks associated with compulsive gambling into their curriculum as part of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards in Comprehensive Health and Physical Education. The curriculum will cover topics such as the dangers of gambling addiction, the risks involved with personal finances and assets, and the distinction between probability and predictability. Additionally, the Commissioner of Education is tasked with providing sample learning activities and resources to assist school districts in this instruction.

Furthermore, the Commissioner will develop a training module for high school teachers that addresses the development of compulsive gambling behaviors, key indicators of gambling problems, and treatment implications. The implementation of these requirements will take effect in the first full school year following the next review and update of the core curriculum content standards by the State Board of Education.
