SYNOPSIS
Requires State colleges to close on Election Day.

An Act concerning public holidays at State colleges and supplementing chapter 64 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.
 
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
 
1. Notwithstanding any law, rule, or regulation to the contrary, a State college shall observe the date of a general election in this State as a holiday on its academic calendar and academic classes shall not be held on that date.
 
2. This act shall take effect in the first full academic year next following the date of enactment.
 
 
STATEMENT
 
This bill requires State colleges to close on Election Day. Under the provisions of the bill, a State college is required to observe the date of a general election in this State as a holiday on its academic calendar and no academic classes are to be held on that date.
The provisions of the bill are to take effect in the first full academic year next following the date of enactment.
