This bill amends current law to ensure that during the renewal of contracts for the operation of official motor vehicle inspection facilities, existing employees who are covered by a collective bargaining agreement are prioritized for employment to fulfill the staffing needs of the new contract. Additionally, it mandates that both existing and new employees receive compensation and benefits packages that comply with the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Furthermore, the bill stipulates that in cases of sale, transfer of assets, or mergers, the collective bargaining agreement in effect at the time remains binding on all successors and assigns, including any purchasers of assets, contracts, or the business. It also extends this binding nature to all corporations, partnerships, organizations, and sole proprietorships that are affiliated with or related to the business operating under the terms of the existing collective bargaining agreement.
