This bill mandates the establishment of a Disabled Veterans Transportation Task Force by the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) to study and address the transportation needs of disabled veterans. The task force will include key officials such as the Adjutant General of the DMVA, the Commissioner of the Department of Transportation, and the President of New Jersey Transit, along with appointed members comprising at least three disabled veterans, three representatives from various veterans organizations, and three representatives from different Boards of County Commissioners. The task force is required to hold at least three public hearings across the state to gather public input.

The responsibilities of the task force include identifying ways to enhance transportation opportunities for disabled veterans, recognizing existing barriers, and developing recommendations for travel expense reimbursements. Additionally, the task force will propose legislative actions to improve transportation services for disabled veterans. An interim report of findings and recommendations is to be submitted within six months of the task force's initial meeting, followed by a final report within twelve months. The reports will be made publicly accessible on the DMVA's website. The act will take effect immediately and will expire once the task force submits its findings and recommendations.
