The proposed change aims to reduce the number of drivers who face license suspensions due to unpaid surcharges by allowing them to accrue more points before being penalized.

The bill specifies that a driver who accumulates 10 or more points within the same three-year timeframe will now be subject to these surcharges. This adjustment is intended to provide relief to drivers and decrease the likelihood of license suspensions resulting from surcharge non-payment. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
