This bill mandates the Department of Education (DOE) and the Department of Health (DOH) to create and distribute guidelines aimed at school districts and institutions of higher education for implementing anti-vaping awareness campaigns. The guidelines are intended to provide adolescents and young adults with research-backed information about the dangers of vaping, addressing the rising use of e-cigarettes in these populations. The DOE and DOH are required to review and update these guidelines annually, incorporating feedback from school administrators, educators, health professionals, and other stakeholders.

The guidelines must include specific recommendations for a multi-tiered anti-vaping campaign, dissemination of research materials on the health risks associated with vaping, decision-making aids to help students resist peer pressure, and marketing materials to promote anti-vaping information to students of various age groups. Additionally, the DOE and DOH are tasked with posting these guidelines on their respective websites, along with links to further anti-vaping resources for school communities. The act is set to take effect immediately and will apply to the first full school year following its enactment.
