This bill mandates that the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) establish a policy regarding the use of instant replay in postseason games. Specifically, the NJSIAA is required to create a policy that ensures an official video and audio recording is made for each tournament and postseason contest. The policy must outline how these recordings can be utilized to review or challenge the judgments made by sports officials concerning the playing rules.

Furthermore, the bill stipulates that the policy must include provisions for the use of video and audio review in specific scenarios. At a minimum, it must require reviews of any official determinations that could affect the final score or outcome of a contest. Additionally, it allows for the use of recordings to identify violations of the sportsmanship policy and to confirm that disqualifications are accurately recognized. The act is set to take effect immediately and will first apply to the full school year following its enactment.
