This bill amends existing legislation regarding portable electronics insurance by authorizing the electronic delivery of related documents and notices. Specifically, it requires insurers to provide electronic mail notifications to enrolled consumers regarding policy terminations and changes, ensuring that such communications are sent at least 30 days prior to the effective date of termination. Additionally, the bill mandates that any required notices or correspondence must be sent to both the vendor's and enrolled consumers' last known mailing or electronic mail addresses, with proof of mailing maintained by the insurer or vendor.

Furthermore, the bill stipulates that insurers must cease electronic mail delivery of notices if they have reason to believe that the notice was not received or if the electronic mail address is no longer valid. This provision aims to ensure that consumers receive important information regarding their insurance policies through reliable means. The changes will take effect 180 days after the bill's enactment.
