This bill mandates the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD), in collaboration with the Department of Health and the Department of Human Services, to launch a multimedia advertising campaign aimed at attracting candidates to health care professions. The campaign is designed to highlight the rewarding nature of careers in health care and will utilize various media platforms, including digital outlets, television, radio, and print. Additionally, the DOLWD is tasked with creating targeted advertising efforts to recruit health care professionals from underrepresented racial groups and to fill high-demand fields identified by the Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development.

To support the implementation of this initiative, the bill appropriates $1 million to the DOLWD, which will be funded through resources received by the State under the federal American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. The campaign is a response to the workforce shortages in the health care sector exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to promote the sector as a viable and fulfilling career path. The bill is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
