Additionally, the bill provides an exemption from municipal parking meter fees for disabled veterans and Purple Heart recipients, provided they are either driving or a passenger in the vehicle, unless the vehicle has been parked in one location for more than 24 hours.

The bill aims to recognize and honor the contributions of wounded combat veterans by ensuring they have accessible parking options in municipal areas. It will take effect immediately but will not be operational until six months after enactment, allowing municipalities time to implement the required changes.
