This bill mandates that school districts in New Jersey incorporate instruction on labor history and the contributions of the labor movement into their social studies curriculum for students in grades six through twelve. Specifically, the curriculum must cover topics such as the history of organized labor, notable strikes, unionization efforts, and the collective bargaining process, along with existing legal protections in the workplace.

Additionally, the bill requires the Commissioner of Education to supply school districts with age-appropriate sample learning activities and resources to assist in fulfilling this instructional requirement. The act is set to take effect immediately and will first apply to the full school year following its enactment.
