This bill mandates that all school districts in New Jersey incorporate age-appropriate instruction on menstrual toxic shock syndrome (TSS) for students in grades four through twelve, as part of their health and physical education curriculum. The instruction will cover the causes, symptoms, and risk reduction strategies related to TSS. Additionally, the Commissioner of Education is tasked with providing sample learning activities and resources to assist schools in implementing this requirement.

Furthermore, the bill requires owners of public restrooms designated for women, specifically those classified as group A or M occupancy and containing two or more toilets, to install signage that informs users about the warning signs, causes, and dangers of menstrual toxic shock syndrome. The Department of Health will develop rules and regulations regarding the signage's placement and content, and these signs must be installed within six months of the regulations being adopted. The bill also calls for the Department of Health to create and disseminate informational literature about TSS on its website, aiming to enhance public awareness of this serious health condition.
