SYNOPSIS
Requires DEP to post list of certain chemicals, requires manufacturers of children s products to report use of certain chemicals, prohibits sale or distribution of children s products containing certain chemicals.

An Act concerning certain chemicals in children s products and supplementing P.L.1960, c.39 (C.56:8-1 et seq.).
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. As used in this act:
CAS means Chemical Abstracts Service number identifying a chemical substance.
Chemical means a substance with a distinct molecular composition or a group of structurally related substances and includes the breakdown products of the substance or substances that form through decomposition, degradation, or metabolism.
Chemical of concern means, unless otherwise removed by the department pursuant to subsection b. of section 2 of this act:
a. (1) 1, 1, 2, 2-Tetrachloroethane (CAS 79-34-5);
(2) 1, 2-Dibromoethane (CAS 106-93-4);
(3) 1, 1, 3, 3-Tetramethyl-4-butylphenol; 4-tert-octylphenol (CAS 140 66-9);
(4) (1, 1, 3, 3 - Tetramethylbutyl) Phenol; Octylphenol (CAS 27193-28-8);
(5) 1, 3-Butadiene (CAS 106-99-0);
b. 1, 4-Dioxane (CAS 123-91-1);
