This bill amends the current law regarding on-premises licenses for barbershops and salons, specifically increasing the licensing fee from $100 to $480. It allows licensed salons and barbershops to serve one alcoholic beverage per customer receiving services, with specific limits on the amount of alcohol served. New provisions require that records of patrons served be maintained and made available to the liquor commission upon request. Additionally, the bill stipulates that individuals under 21 years of age may be present in the establishment but are prohibited from consuming alcohol.
Furthermore, the bill mandates that all employees of the licensed establishments complete responsible beverage service training and maintain records of this training for inspection by the liquor commission. The liquor commission is also tasked with conducting annual inspections of the facilities and submitting a report to the legislature detailing the number of licenses issued, inspections performed, and violations recorded. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
