This bill amends the current regulations governing the electricians' board by increasing the maximum number of terms that members can serve. Specifically, it changes the limit on the number of terms from 2 to 3, allowing members to serve longer on the board. Additionally, the total number of years a member can serve is increased from 12 to 16 years, which includes time served in multiple 5-year terms, as well as any time spent fulfilling unexpired terms or being held over after a term expires.

The bill also stipulates that the board will continue to consist of 5 members, including 2 master electricians, 1 journeyman electrician, and 2 public members, all appointed by the governor with council approval. The state fire marshal or their designee will remain an ex officio member without voting rights. The effective date of the act is set for 60 days after its passage.
