This bill mandates that all candidates seeking licensure as educators in New Hampshire must achieve passing scores on professional education assessments. Specifically, it amends RSA 186:11, X(a) to include new requirements for certification of teachers, supervisors, and administrators. The new legal language stipulates that candidates for New Hampshire licenses in various educational roles, including administrator, teacher, instructional specialist, or educational specialist, must pass these assessments as determined by the New Hampshire state board of education.

Additionally, the bill allows local school boards to request a waiver for Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers from the assessment requirement. This waiver request must be accompanied by recommendations from the superintendent, principal, or CTE director. The bill will take effect 60 days after its passage.
