This bill mandates the inclusion of a voter's year of birth on the voter checklist, amending RSA 654:25. The new legal language specifies that the information maintained and updated by the supervisors of the checklist must now include the full name, year of birth, domicile address, mailing address, and party affiliation, if any, of each voter. Additionally, every checklist used during elections must contain this information, although the mailing addresses are not required on the paper checklists used by ballot clerks on election day.
The bill also includes provisions for voters who wish to keep their information private. If a voter presents a valid protective order, their name and address will not appear on the public checklist but will be maintained on a separate nonpublic list, which is not subject to public disclosure laws. The public checklist will indicate the number of voters whose information is kept on this nonpublic list. The act is set to take effect 60 days after its passage.
