This bill mandates that employers with 50 or more employees in New Hampshire must disclose expected salary ranges in public job postings. A new section, RSA 275:70-b, is added to the existing labor laws, defining key terms such as "employer," "posting," and "salary range." The bill specifies that a salary range must reflect the employer's good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum compensation for the job at the time of the posting. Additionally, employers are required to provide a general description of benefits and other compensation, including health and retirement benefits, in their job listings.
Furthermore, if an employer does not intend to negotiate a salary for a position, they must list a fixed pay rate, ensuring that the salary range is not open-ended. The bill aims to promote transparency in the hiring process and assist job seekers in making informed decisions. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
