This bill amends RSA 207:7-a to allow certain disabled individuals, specifically those with paraplegia or those who have lost one or both lower extremities, to hunt from a motor vehicle. The current language that states a disabled person "is suffering from" has been changed to "has," and the phrase "who is suffering from the loss of, or the loss of the use of," has been replaced with "has lost one or both lower extremities" and "has lost the use of one or both lower extremities." This change clarifies the eligibility criteria for obtaining a special permit to hunt from a motor vehicle.
To obtain this permit, individuals must apply to the executive director of the fish and game department and provide documentary proof of their disability from a licensed hunter. The bill specifies that the permit must be carried while hunting and presented upon request by law enforcement. Additionally, it establishes a $10 administrative fee for the application process. The act will take effect 60 days after its passage.
