This bill amends the membership and duties of the trauma medical review committee by expanding its composition to include representatives from various trauma care levels, including trauma surgeons, trauma program managers, and trauma registrars, among others. Specifically, new members will include one representative from each trauma hospital level (I, II, III, and IV), an injury prevention coordinator, a trauma survivor, and a physician from a rehabilitation center specializing in trauma. Additionally, the committee is tasked with providing an annual report to the governor on the status of New Hampshire’s trauma system, detailing trauma hospital information and summarizing injury and death data.
Furthermore, the bill establishes a study committee to review the composition, duties, and responsibilities of certain emergency medical services boards, including the emergency medical and trauma services coordinating board and the emergency medical services medical control board. The study committee will consist of two members from the House of Representatives and one member from the Senate, with members receiving mileage compensation. The committee is required to report its findings and recommendations for proposed legislation by November 1, 2026. The act will take effect upon its passage.
