This bill amends the current law regarding the verification of voter rolls by changing the frequency of verification from every ten years to annually. Specifically, it modifies RSA 654:39 to require that the checklist be verified annually, starting in 2026, rather than the previous requirement of verification every ten years. The bill also mandates that supervisors of the checklist post notices of their verification sessions and hold sufficient sessions to allow eligible voters to register or reregister. Additionally, it stipulates that names of individuals who have not registered or reregistered will be struck from the checklist, provided they have been notified of their failure to reregister.

Furthermore, the bill introduces a new provision that allows individuals to be deemed reregistered without appearing before the supervisors if they have voted in any election within the last five years or have been added to the checklist since the last state general election. It also requires the Secretary of State to develop necessary forms for the reregistration of eligible voters who may be removed from the checklist. The effective date for this act is set for January 1, 2026.
