This bill amends existing law to grant health insurance carriers access to the state immunization registry, known as the New Hampshire Immunization Information System (NHIIS). The amendments include the insertion of "health plans" into the list of entities authorized to access the registry, alongside primary care physicians, nurses, schools, and government health agencies. Additionally, the bill expands the purposes for which the registry information can be used, specifically to improve immunization rates and healthcare quality improvement efforts, including notifying registrants of overdue or upcoming immunizations.

To facilitate these changes, the bill appropriates $100,000 to the Department of Health and Human Services for the biennium ending June 30, 2027, to cover the technical modifications necessary for secure data exchange and protection of personal health information. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, and does not authorize new positions or generate additional revenue, with expenditures anticipated to occur primarily in FY 2026.
