This bill amends the definition of "provider" within the therapeutic cannabis program to include specific requirements for physician assistants. It stipulates that a physician assistant must prescribe in accordance with a collaboration agreement if such an agreement is mandated under RSA 328-D:3-b. Additionally, the bill clarifies that any concerns regarding provider conduct must be reported to the appropriate regulatory authorities in New Hampshire, as well as in Maine, Massachusetts, or Vermont. This ensures that disciplinary actions taken by these regulatory entities can lead to a provider's prohibition from participating in New Hampshire's therapeutic cannabis program.
Furthermore, the bill introduces new prohibitions for providers, including restrictions on accepting or offering remuneration from alternative treatment centers unless employed by one, and prohibits offering discounts or incentives to patients for using specific treatment centers. It also extends these prohibitions to interactions with cannabis dispensaries and other cannabis entities in other states. The effective date of the act is set for 60 days after its passage.
