This bill amends current law to allow the sale of uninspected bison, red deer, and elk meat by retailers, while also removing the previously scheduled repeal of the provisions governing such sales. Specifically, it introduces a new section (RSA 143-A:20-a) that permits retailers to purchase uninspected meat from producers, provided that the meat is properly labeled according to existing regulations. Retailers are required to maintain purchase receipts for at least 90 days, detailing the product, purchase date, producer information, and farm contact details. Additionally, any product containing uninspected meat must carry a clear label stating that it was slaughtered at the farm and is exempt from state and federal inspection.

Furthermore, the bill modifies the effective date of certain sections of a previous act by inserting that they "shall not take effect" on July 1, 2025, thereby ensuring that the provisions regarding uninspected meat sales remain in effect. The overall effective date for this act is set for June 30, 2025.
